Happy Birthday, Daddy

Happy Birthday, Daddy!

I helped Mommy make you dinner and birthday brownies, but I'm too little to lick the bowl!

I got Daddy a coffee mug with, you guessed it, MY picture on it - of course!

Talker!

Kate has found her voice - and boy does she use it! She's realized that SHE makes that noise - then she smiles - and screams, screeches, and gurgles, and coos... Kate talked to her Grandpa, her Grandma Shirley, her Nana, and her Papa - all nonstop in the same day!

Her bald spot on the back of her head is still there - she tosses her head about in her crib at night. She can sit up with a little help, but we know that the bald spot will start to disappear once she's able to sit up on her own.

At the Pool

Kate had her first dip in the pool today! Our development has a baby pool that was just her speed. We spent more time putting sunscreen on her than what she spent in the pool, but she really enjoyed it! No tears or crying, and lots of smiles and coos!

Hoe-down!

Mostly, she just makes us laugh! Doesn't it look like she's been practicing for a dance?

Just Another Day at the Office

We went to visit our friends, Alison and Richard, in Los Angeles today. Their daughter, Petra, was so generous as to share her "office" with Kate. Kate loved it, and it put the perfect buffer between the two of them. They really seemed to enjoy playing with each other.

We can't wait until the 7 month age difference doesn't feel so huge, and that they really can play together!

No more cradle

Kate has definitely transitioned out of her cradle. We have put her to sleep in her crib for a month now, and she is still sleeping through the night. For this picture, I put her back into her cradle, but she promptly grabbed her feet and tried to roll over!

Daddy normally puts her to sleep around 8:30pm, and Kate is sleeping until 6:30am. That's 10 hours for a 3 month-old (and she's still nursing)! What a sweet baby!

The Baptism

Kate did cry throughout the pouring of water on her head...and we didn't drop her. She was one of 15 babies being baptized on the 13th. Here she is with her Godparents, happy that her "bath" is over.

Getting Ready for Baptism

Kate's Godparents came out to visit for Kate's baptism. Her Godparents are Michael and Deborah Zillich (Anissa's cousin). They were accompanied by their son, Dan, and Ilona Valco (Anissa's cousin) and Aunt Kathe (Anissa's aunt). It was so

great to spend time with the Zillich clan. Kate had to wear a new baptism dress, since her mom's was too small for her. She promptly lifted the dress up and sucked on the bottom hem. Let's hope that she outgrows this before she hits kindergarten.

At the Beach

We all went to Santa Monica Beach on Saturday. Aunt Kathe has never seen the Pacific Ocean. Kate slept the two (plus) hours that it took to drive here (we had to detour through Rodeo Drive to show Aunt Kathe), and she slept most of the drive back home. When a cool breeze hit her face, she'd gasp and smile. Gotta love that hat!

It was so nice to have family out to visit - we're really going to miss everyone when they return home on Monday.

Hold my feet!

Kate is learning so fast! She's able to hold her feet, which comes in very handy during diaper changes. Big smiles from her too!

Hickey Monster

We have a "hickey-monster" on our hands! Kate has given herself several hickeys on her forearm, and is willing to give Mom or Dad a hickey on their nose or chin, too!
