Snuffle

Kate is so uncomfortable with this cold that has been hanging around now for over a week. She's so congested that she screams if I put her on her back. Her attention span has been tiny, too. All she wants is to be "head-up", preferably in someone's arms. Here is one of the few moments where Kate was happy and on her belly this week.

Coaster Kate

We visited our friends in LA on Saturday. They make the second-best espressos in town (Peet's being first, of course). Who turned our little girl into a coaster, I wonder?

I have a "code"

Kate has been battling a cold for the past few days. Her eyes are watering, and she really hates being on her back - good thing that she's now an expert on rolling from back to front (still trying to perfect the front to back roll, though).

Happy Birthday, Daddy

Happy Birthday, Daddy!

I helped Mommy make you dinner and birthday brownies, but I'm too little to lick the bowl!

I got Daddy a coffee mug with, you guessed it, MY picture on it - of course!

Talker!

Kate has found her voice - and boy does she use it! She's realized that SHE makes that noise - then she smiles - and screams, screeches, and gurgles, and coos... Kate talked to her Grandpa, her Grandma Shirley, her Nana, and her Papa - all nonstop in the same day!







Her bald spot on the back of her head is still there - she tosses her head about in her crib at night. She can sit up with a little help, but we know that the bald spot will start to disappear once she's able to sit up on her own.

At the Pool

Kate had her first dip in the pool today! Our development has a baby pool that was just her speed. We spent more time putting sunscreen on her than what she spent in the pool, but she really enjoyed it! No tears or crying, and lots of smiles and coos!

Hoe-down!

Mostly, she just makes us laugh! Doesn't it look like she's been practicing for a dance?
